<< Here in NYC we have an organization called the Doe Fund that runs a program

called "Ready, Willing, & Able." It takes ex-druggies, "rehabilitates"

them, and lends them to the city for workfare work. Now, they collect trash

from street litterbaskets - work that used to be done by unionized sanit

workers - while wearing a bright blue jumpsuit (jailhouse fashion) with the

"Ready Willing & Able" logo splashed across the back. Don't tell TLC!

not only have they taken unionized jobs, but the R, W, & A people were hauled into court for paying LESS than minimum wage. Apparently they were only paying $2-3 an hour under the guise of "educational training." Yeah. They were forced to ante up alot of back pay and are supposedly now paying minimum wage -- but who is going to monitor their activities. maggie coleman mscoleman at aol.com
