Re MBS's "In what I take to be actual politics,
I'm cutting edge.  On LBO, I'm cold potatoes."

MBS, I get this constant sense of cognitive dissonance reading your
posts.  They confirm my feeling that economists in the main -- right OR
left -- are themselves lagging indicators of major shifts in world
economic affairs.  There is a Depression brewing, and that will create
major policy demands AND opportunities that are far beyond the modest
proposals that seem to inhere in your perception of "actual politics."
