Organizing McDonald's

I too was gratified to read the news in LBO. McDonald's has an especially vicious record in breaking unions. Almost twenty years ago, when workers at McDonald's in Dublin were organizing, the company dispatched to Ireland one of its New York executives, Curtis Sliwa (best known as founder and fuehrer of the beret-and-tshirt Guardian Angel vigilantes), to break their strike. This was too good to resist. While reporters were listening to his boasts of prowess, the plate glass of the storefront shattered. Fastened to the missile was a note: "You Deserve a Brick Today."
