Even though the meaning she attaches to "homologous" is... obscure, to say

the least?

"General equilibrium theory suggests that everything is a function of everthing else. Explain why this is correct or incorrect."

Well that seems to be the rage in the academy. Since everything has to have a sexy "interdisciplinary" spin, you get words like "homologous" and perhaps even "phylogenetics" appearing in Butler-type writings.

Interestingly, the molecular folks are purging/defunding/reconstituting old- time "whole animal" areas like field ccology from biology. This is very reminiscent of how economic history got purged/marginalized from economics - now there's my own pomo angle for an article in HOPE!

PS - Anyone seen Metallica's video of Bob Seger's "Turn the Page?" What a disturbing video - but I suppose that was Jimmy Hetfield's intent!
