Dear Doug,

Remember the old song lyric, "they tore down paradise to build a parking lot."

Suburban and exurban sprawl are getting out of hand. Some of the best and most productive agricultural land in this country is being paved. This causes problems not just in the creation of heat sinks it also does great harm to the water table and causes storm and sanitary sewer problems. Also a lot of woodland-wetlands are being destroyed. The scale of these developments has got to effect climate.
