I forgot to mention that feminists might enjoy the collection _Beyond Economic Man_ ed. Nancy Folbre. Folbre has recently turned her eye to empirical work. One page of her _Field Guide to the U.S. Economy_ is worth a bookcase of theory. Also, _The Open Philosophy and its Enemies_ by M.Cornforth is a good marxist critique of Popper.
