I think there's at least a master's thesis, if not a dissertation, and surely an important article for more popular consumption in a serious analysis of the role played by AFL-CI0 affiliates in the PR strike, the perceptions of those local's leaders of the situation in PR, their role in the strike, and their role within their national affliates. Going from PR to a national union convention in Las Vegas or wherever, must be quite an ideological as well as cultural leap for some.
