The lawlessness of the SFPD doesn't just confine itself to the homeless or FNB activists. The SFPD has a history of abuse on all political dissent. The July 1997 Critical Mass ride in which thousands of cyclists rode together to demand safe streets and an equitable transportation infrastructure were assaulted and arrested en masse. The police even started their own riot to find an excuse to beat and maim participants innocent bystanders, and those who were brave enough to document their abuse.
