Dear Doug and the Left Business Observers,
I have noticed mentions of the classic political how-to book Plunkitt Of
Tammany Hall on the LBO list.  Since we are now facing what will be a battle
to preserve social security as we know it---I would recommend that people read
this wonderful little book, with an eye to its positive and practical advice
on human nature.

Plunkitt of Tammany Hall is available in paper and is inexpensive, and can be
found in used bookstores in paper for a couple of dollars.
