In addition to Southern Agrarian tendencies (Genovese recently told the
Times he would favor a movement toward southern secession, although not
the racism with which the South is still generously endowed), Genovese
has reembraced Catholicism, following his wife, Elizabeth Fox-Genovese,
who has converted to Catholicism.
