I am not talking about individuals, Carroll. I am talking about groups that have a history, each and every one of them. Now, there are individuals in these various sects who can come up with some interesting analyses. For example, CLR James was involved with the Trotskyist movement for many years. This is an exception to the rule, however. You can take all of the newspaper articles that have appeared in the Trotskyist or Maoist newspapers over the past 25 years and find virtually nothing of value. They are jargon-ridden and thin on analysis. I have been fighting since 1981 to help turn the page on this unfortunate chapter in American socialism. The "Marxist-Leninist" model has hampered our efforts. Unless we finally put this to rest, we will not be able to move forward. These groups are obstacles.
