Purges

When I was a graduate student (not in economics) at Columbia University in
the early 1970s, there was a wholesale purge of the radicals (most of them
instructors not on tenure lines, although one or two, like Roger Alcaly,
were on a tenure track and had to be disposed of more slowly). David
Gold, I believe Anwar Shaikh, and others whose names I forget, were all
wiped out in one year.
