Unskilled? New York cab drivers may be reckless, but they're not unskilled! If they weren't skilled, they, their passengers, and pedestrians would be dying like flies. Friends

P.S. A friend of mine -- a 60's PhD non-dropout who lost one university teaching job -- spent several years driving a cab in NYC until he got another teaching job (and eventual tenure).
