Except when the Fortune & Remy hacks were speaking, or the dozers from the floor.

You're right Lou, and I hope I made it clear that I think Moore is brilliant at what he does, even if his politics aren't perfect. My pal I met there, who's a liberal columnist for Esquire, said he couldn't understand why the left was so cannibalistic; he said he really didn't get what Cockburn's beef was with Moore. I do, and I think Alex is right, but so's my friend. I have to admit I get a lot more pleasure out of bashing someone like Jerry Brown or David Korten than Newt Gingrich or Phil Knight. But still anyone who's funny has already won 1/2-3/4 of my heart. I know Howard Stern is a blot on all that's holy, but the guy is damned funny too. Moore makes radical politics funny, which makes him a lot better than Stern. It's too bad he's about the only one, though. Can Marxists be funny? Lou, you're a Marxist and you're funny, but why has the Marxist left (at least in the U.S.) been so fucking drab?
