In their article, Mason and Darrity reproduce (verbatim) job ads from the NYTs and other leading papers that state "whites only" or "European;" in one case they cite an ad for a women with "36-24-36" measurements! They conclude that while job discrimination has lessened for women, for minorities the trend since the mid-1970s has been worse. Heckman (as expected) accuses them of crying "fire" in a crowded theatre and tries to refute their claims.
