Eisenhower *claimed* that he had already run over the time allocated for
his press conference, that he needed to be doing other things, and that he
was trying to end the press conference by saying that he had already
answered enough questions and would answer that question the next week...

Eisenhower was (to Richard Nixon at least) a cruel man...

Though he probably had ample provocation
