The Nation and the Democrats (as of May 2, 1987)

I've been going through old journals, trimming them down to keepable size,
and I came across an interesting article (the lead article) in the May 2,
1987 *Nation*: "Inside Gephardt's Pacscam: Where the Money Went,"  by
David Corn. 

The *Nation* could easily refute the notion (which is becoming steadily
more probable) that it is now nothing more than an appendage to the DNC,
and a pretty sloppy one at that, by having someone bring that article up
to date. It would probably need to be a two-part article. Part 1 could be
published (say) this fall, the second part in late 1999, just before the
primary season.  It would fit right in with one of the *Nation*'s favorite
themes lately, campaign finance reform.
