Chilean Ex-Dictator Pinochet Arrested In London

LONDON (Reuters) - Former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet was arrested in London Saturday by police acting on a request from Spain.
A police spokeswoman said Pinochet, 82, had been arrested on an extradition warrant filed by Spain in connection with allegations that Pinochet murdered Spanish citizens while he was in power between 1973 and 1990.
``His arrest has taken place on the specific request of the Spanish authorities,'' she said.
