This weekend, Bresinski(sp?, the Carter guy) was using Poland as the new success story of neo-liberalism. Said unlike Russia, they had stayed the correct course. Does anyone know how true this is. I've heard several US honchos talking like this lately. Like they now know they're going to pull this one off. For a couple of weeks they seemed very unsure of themselves. Course it could be a brave front for the rubes.

Other interesting, if dubious points he made:

1) Russia couldn't fight their way out of a failed bank, so we don't care if they get upset about Kosovo.

2)Berlin will be the center of Europe, so Britain is out, and Germany will be our new best friend.

Anyway, my question is, how is Poland doing, and did they really do it 'our way'?

Curiously yours Paula
