Re Doug's: "[Deflation] benefits anyone with a solid horde of money.
Yale built its
residential colleges in the 1930s very cheaply ... an
entire village of Italian artisans was imported to cut wood & stone &
make
the (often whimsical) stained glass."
Ibid: "My hard luck [yesterday] was to stand
next to a trio of gold traders, who were convinced their day was here
..."
Just shows what a hydra-headed monster Capital is, no? Stage a major
stock market sell-off and the next thing you know -- wham, you've got
gloating goldbugs crawling all over you and Ivy League trust funds
ordering truckloads of whimsical, stained glass.
