I don't want to divert this thread into a discourse on state theory, but this bit of short hand caught my eye. "...the executive committee of the ruling class"???? Seems more than a little simplistic and mechanistic from someone who professes a pretty sophisticated Marxist analysis. Seems a few more metaphors are needed (like "contested terrain"). In your zeal to slam Chris, seems you have opened a bit of a sink hole.
