Alex, he's talking to the WSJ audience, mocking their mock-serious "concern" over Bubba's "inappropriateness." He's propagandizing them. He's trying to say, "Go ahead, fools! If you destroy the Presidency (Oooh, that sounds so dire! "Destroying the presidency!" Come on, Alex, doesn't that phrase slip you a cheap thrill? think what it does to a stockbroker) then you are only playing into the hands of us Red Commie Anarchists! Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!"

You've made the mistake of taking ANYTHING on the WSJ editorial page literally. Bless that mad Irishman's heart, that there is only reverse psychology; he's trying to bamboozle those moneyswine into begging their bought Congressmen, "Hey, call this shit off, before you bring the whole house down on all our heads!"
