Robert Fogel has an article in which you can see the imprint of the business cycle in the height of boys in London in the mid-nineteenth century: the deeper the recession, the shorter is average height. But since 1870 or so in the industrial core you can't see much correlation between the state of the business cycle and mortality or morbidity.
