The one surprising thing Sweeney did when he was elected was fire a large chunk of the foreign policy apparatus of the AFL-CIO and install new people who are generally considered very progressive. One of the new heads even refers to the old apparatus as the "AFL-CIA" They have had a pretty good reputation so far in trying to seek real alliances in the third world.

The question is whether, even giving them credit for good faith, it makes sense to cut this kind of deal with Reebok?
