Yeah, the Thatcher quote is absurd. "There is no such thing as society, there is only individuals and their families". If you are going to allow for families why not society? What is a family other than a group of individuals? What is an individual other than a cluster of atoms? To be consistent, Thatcher has to say that not even individuals exist, all that exists are atoms. As usual, conservatives pick their ideas and methods very selectively so as to only benefit their class interests. Conservatism as an ideology has nothing to say for itself.
