This was a bit more pessimistic than I'd have been,
but the fact remains that busing for purposes of
desegregation is going the way of the dodo bird.
Here in D.C. (sic), there's Prince George County
of Md.  It's got a high proportion of African-
Americans of diverse incomes.  The political
leadership is mostly African-American.  They
have just decided to end busing.  If you were
looking for a definitive signal, that would do
pretty well.
