I went to this. (Just read this message now). The people on the Berkeley city council sure must hate each other. They had barely suppressed animosity towards one another. The mayor kept kind of giving certain council members and audience members evil death glares, and then they shamed her into apologizing for changing her position and then taking credit. Diane Woolley looks like she's acting, somehow, saying what she knows we want to hear.

>TUESDAY JULY 27 AT 7:00 pm -
>BERKELEY CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON KPFA CRISIS
>-----------------------------------------------------------------
>On Tuesday, July 27th, the Berkeley City Council will hold a
>special session devoted entirely to the lockout and takeover at
>KPFA. At its last meeting, the Council debated two pro-
>KPFA resolutions, but failed to pass either of them. Since then,
>Mayor Shirley Dean held a meeting with the KPFA Steering
>Committee to draft a resolution which could get unanimous
>support from the Council. The Steering Committee believes
>Dean's resolution is strong enough for the present, and would
>like to see it pass unanimously. Other council members are
>expected to make further demands, such as calling for the
>resignations of Mary Frances Berry and Lynn Chadwick.
