Don't know. I met McCoy briefly in Chicago a number of years ago but didn't ask him about politics.

Its called Marxism:The Opium of the Intellectuals. It was a CIA propaganda publication. I would never accuse 'Trane of being a bushy tailed conservative with songs like Alabama and the like. He, like McCoy later would, got into the afro-centric thing. Trane was into mysticism, peace and love and all that. There is a photo of him laying a wreath in Nagasaki. Sam Pawlett
