Not at all. Of course, it doesn't make it anti-liberal, and suicide doesn't necessarily correlate to economic well-being of a nation (although it may correlate better with jumps and drops in an individual nation's economic well-being rather than its well-being relative to other nations).

If I recall correctly, there *is* a strong positive correlation between latitude and suicide rate. Sweden is one of the most northerly nations. Can't cite the study, but it should be around on MEDLINE.
