anarchism/marxism, what a quaint topic for lbo-ers to ruminate on...

Charles: It occurred to me that much of the non-marxist left is anarchism. Being anarchists, they ,of course, don't all go by the same name. In a way, anarchism is sectarianism as a first principle. It is the inevitable multiplicity of organization that gives primacy to individualism. This suggests it as the fruit of the bourgeois revolution, generalized rebelliousness. The slogan "the least government is the best government" of American libertarian anarchism is an important sample. Anarchism/Marxism is a mixture of petit bourgeois and working class revolutionism.
