I'm not Angela nor do I play her in cyberspace but you might check out Beatrice Webb's _My Apprenticeship_ where she expresses her admiration for Herbert Spencer and her _Our Partnership_ where she expresses a lack of faith in the abiliies of the 'average man' (her phrase) and suggests that a room full of working people approaches 'raving imbecility' (again, her phrase).
