FW: Seattle

misguided is far too kind a word, obviously. it was utterly disingenuous; as he was welcoming the protesters to Seattle on Wednesday morning, cordons were being established round the downtown perimeter to make sure none of them came near another wto delegate for the remainder of the week. then there's the tawdry, manifest dishonesty of his remarks on the u.s. position in all this. arguing for international labor conventions indeed--just like he did with his mutterings about nafta "side agreements" six years ago.

So misguided ... and so characteristic. President Billy Bob really hit the ground running in Seattle, triangulating for all he was worth. If he gets away with his Mr. Empathy act this time, all the fuss in Seattle will have been for nothing.
