Charles: Even if the US produced some "good culture" in the same period, it produced so much junk and anti-culture that the good stuff was drowned out. It is the overwhelming amount of bad stuff produced in the US that undermines the minuscule good stuff produced. And the bad stuff is promoted much more than the good. Barbarism , here we come.
The USSR beat the US in the quality /quantity ratio. It's that old US. evergrowing GNP/GDP syndrome.
