A quick one to wish all Observers a monstrously excessive fortnight.  I'm
off home for a few weeks' hard typing, and hope I shall be strong enough to
resist LBO-Talk's wiles for the duration.

And keep an eye out for *The Economist's* traditional predictions for the
new year ... should be good for a smug snicker by February.
