The University of Texas Inequality Project is a small research group comprised predominantly of Ph.D. students at the LBJ School, with representation from the Government Department and GSLIS as well as continuing participation from several LBJ graduates and outside faculty. Our mission is to measure changes in industrial earnings and wage inequality, and to develop new ways to measure and evaluate industrial change in the global economy.
Over the past year, with support from the LBJ School's Policy Research Institute, the Ford Foundation and the Jerome Levy Economics Institute, we have advanced our work with publications in Research in Economic Inequality, the Journal of Economic Development, and the Review of Development Economics. UTIP papers have been read at the American Philosophical Society and at the American Economics Association meetings in New York.
Now, we would like to invite you to tour our new web-site, at the address given below. The site presents many of our measurements in graphical and map form, and provides download access to seven of our working papers (so far). The web-site will incorporate many new features and additional papers in the future, so if our work interests you please come back from time to time. Comments are most welcome, and please pass this invitation along to friends or colleagues who may be interested.
