P.S. I think that too many students (have to) work (for pay, in retail, fast food, etc.) too many hours.

You all are missing the point. If you have money, then school doesn't matter, because you are safe no matter what. If you don't have money, then school doesn't matter because you are not going any where anyway. In either case you need a diploma and school doesn't matter. See? That's the logic of late capitalism.
