There is a lot of controversy over what safeguards are being built into that project. Eugenics and insurance discrimination are most likely to be used against the least powerful economically and racially. Opposing the program may not be possible, but there is no question that mapping the human genome is going to lead to whole new set of attrocities that any progressive should be legitimately shitting in their pants about.
