All:
I came across some statistics on land development today's NY Times
that must be bogus. In a column about overdevelopment, John Tierney
cites a " Samuel R. Staley, an urban economist who has done a study on
sprawl for the Reason Public Policy Institute," as the source of these
figures:
-- in 1992, 95.3 of American land was undeveloped
-- today, 95.1 of American land is undeveloped
Does anyone know a source for other figures? And does anyone have any
background on Staley or the Reason Public Policy Institute, e.g., is
it linked to Reason magazine?
Thanks,
