Unfortunately, the state has given itself governmental immunity from suits of this kind. The only possibility would be a suit for malicious prosecution, which is very difficult to win.

Hell, what about a suit for wrongful conviction? Surely there's a public obligation to make him as whole as possible, isn't there?
