William Vickery question

Yes - Bill Vickery won "it" in 1997.  Compared to the assholes that have won
the econ prize - Vickery was quite a change.

I met Vickery several times at the Economic History seminar at Columbia - a
helluva nice guy.  Unpretentious, approachable, no bullshit airs - quite
refreshing for the high bullshit factor at Columbia.  He was a CO during WWII
and grew up in Westchester NY.
