for sure dennis,  these where some of the troubling thoughts i was
having:  does the gift mean communiy or sacrifice under certain
conditions?  (i was thinking of domestic work for instance, which i
would not hoewever reduce to this, in any case).  but i was having
many roubling thoughts, not just on the contradictoty (or aporetic)
character of the gift, but also of the notion of communiyt as a 'free
and equal exchange), which does remind me of habermas, and in a more
anemic form, rorty.
