what does pomo have to do with the increasing segmentation of the academic labour market, especially the incredible rise of casualised and sessional staff (is this also the case in the US?)?
anyways, all the talk of pomo and the academic star-system might well be a fairly crude response to such segmentation, and hardly explanatory or interesting. i can't quite shake the feeling that there is a heck of a lot of whining going on by certain folks, namely those who think they would otherwise be themselves stars if it weren't for all this new-fangled stuff.
anyone for another round of who stole my enjoyment?
