I'm thinking whoever wrote the copy for that ad has read way too much Camille Paglia. You have to admit that the genius in that sort of thing is making capitalism look like a liberating force for all of us "jes plain folk," whereas the people who criticize capitalism are painted a bunch of pointyhead elitists. I'm reminded of the time that Paglia was on C-Span and she was condeming Leftist intellectuals for being effete wimps who were incapable of appreciating the virile beauty of construction workers and the like. So hip capitalists like Paglia and the Levi's girl are defending the unwashed masses against all of us snobby Marxists. Man, how do strawman arguments like that ever gain credibility? (Ok, ok, stupid question...)
