I just bought a copy of Pierre Klossowski's _The Baphomet_. I haven't read
it yet, but the blurb says that "In _The Baphomet_, theological and
metaphysical issues interlace with eroticism and subtle irony. ...[E]very
year the 'breaths' of the long-gone Templar knights gather on the
anniversary of the torment and execution of their Grand Master to commit
the sexual iniquities and blasphemous acts of which they had been forced to
falsely accuse one another before an Inquisition tribunal. ...Brother of
the painter Balthus, disciple and friend of Rilke and Gide, he co-founded
the College de Sociologie, and has translated Nietzsche, Wittgenstein,
Heidegger, and Virgil. Following a religious crisis, he entered a Dominican
seminary, which he later left after having joined the French Resistance...".
