more KPFA

[Michael Perelman]

KFPA is very important to me.  I learnt more there than from the University.
I used to help prepare the weekend news and I helped to produce a few shows
with Vic Badoin (sp?).

I have been trying to get KPFA to rebroadcast from Chico for 20 years.  I had
an application with the FCC to broadcast from my place.  Pacifica did the
paper work for me.

Two questions.  With all the community support for the staff, wouldn't the
PacMan feel a bit isolated.  I have not heard many people coming out in favor
of them.

Second.  Was the lockout planned in advance?  M. Berry promised that there
would be no more armed guards beginning next week.  Could she have known what
was going to happen?

At least this is a reversal of privatization.  The Berkeley police replacing
hired police.
