A number of articles have been published in the American press since the end of the aggression which clearly state that, prior to the war, the KLA was doing just that: the systematic murder of Serbian civilians as well as Albania civilians who were working for the state.

Hedges's article in Foreign Affairs reflects a thorough knowledge of the social organization of Albanian life rarely found in Western writers.
