It's interesting that the Pew folks do mention how the wording of questions affects answers in one case but just put this information out there without comment:
"The public now worries as much about civilian victims in Yugoslavia as about U.S. troops. Some 50% of Americans say they are very worried that innocent people are being hurt or killed by the air strikes. And 37% are very worried about Serbian civilians, a figure that is unchanged from April (40%)."
Yikes! Separating "innocent people" from "Serbian civilians" seems like a choice of wording that is itself a choice of sides.
And the finding that
"Even fewer (49%) are very worried that U.S. troops could be involved in Kosovo for a long time, down from 63%."
indicates that a lot of Americans are even more deluded than I thought -- have their wee brains no space to process information about Bosnia and Kosovo at the same time?
