i'd have to concur. my parents and i emigrated to the states in 79/80 from Kiev, so i have the pleasure of hearing their analysis of government and politics in general. their take is exactly the same as above. and they vote republican.
as they see it--government is inherently corrupt and there is no fundamental difference between either the commie or the capitalist model. imagine their shock when i suggested that i work within the political realm.
