...an institution he left in disgrace, villified for his frequent absences (his wife, a New York-based artist/filmmaker, understandably never wanted to move to New Haven, though the president's house is pretty nice), and hated by the faculty for his imperious manner and idiotic schemes (like shutting down the sociology & electrical engineering departments to save money). And then he went to work for Chris Whittle's Edison Project, a corporation organized to manage public primary and secondary schools for profit. How appropriate that Rudy Giuliani should choose him to rethink CUNY.
