I would expect that at any time in the last 150 years a poll of southern racists on this topic would have found at the top of the list some black defender of white supremacy -- and the favorite form of defending white supremacy at *this* time is to prove that good black boys can "make it in the system." The approval of Powell is racist to the core, and really disgustingly so.
